Part I - Global & Ecosystem Ecology, and Physiological Ecology (Jordan Mayor)

In Introduction to Ecology we learn about the major subdisciplines of this diverse science; Global Ecology, Ecosystem Ecology, Physiological Ecology, Population Ecology, and Community Ecology. Part I begins with a review of adaptation and natural selection, followed by a discussion of energy and nutrient flux in ecosystems. The section then finishes with the study of how organisms respond to their environment through modifications of form and function (physiological ecology). Download the syllabus here.
